put trans in D, left foot firmly on brake, bring engine revs up to 1500-2000 very momentarily. hood up, watch for DS of engine to jump up sharply. If DS mount is good it will stay put but tense up. Same routine but in R will test PS mount. Have helper watch for engine movement if hard for you to see - but off to side in case car moves on accident.
